I’m pondering buying one of those electric log splitters?

I had a gas one and after it quit on me I bought the electric one. What a mistake. They hardly have any power at all. They are ok if you want to stand there a while. With a gas one you can cut 10 chunks to 2 of the electric. I sold the electric one. never again.

I’ve never heard of an electic type, but my husband and I rented one of the gas powered ones before and they are bitchin’ cool! BUT, you would have to split A LOT of wood to re-coup the cost of it. You can buy a lot of ranks of wood for $1,200~ The cost would probably be justifiable if you were clearing alot of land or going in the wood selling business, other than that, it would just take up precious space in the garage most of the year;)
    Good Luck on your decision:)

Personally I love swinging a maul its excellent exercise.
I have never used an electric wood splitter but I have extensive knowledge of hydraulics. I wood think that it wood be slow and not alot of power. The plus side is its quite and could be used in garage without afixeation.
